Evidence-informed, assessment-based care

Who This Work Is For

Skilled Hands Massage Therapy is designed for people who expect more from their bodies - and from their care.

This work is for individuals who move often, work hard, and notice when their body isn't functioning the way it should. Whether your demands come from sport, work, or daily life, treatment is guided by how your body moves, compensates, and responds - not by one-size-fits-all routine.

This care is especially well-suited for:

  • Dancers and performance-based movers
  • Athletes and active individuals
  • Professionals with physically or mentally demanding work
  • People dealing with persistent or recurring issues

If you are looking for temporary relief, this may not be the right fit.

If you are looking for intentional, assessment-driven care that supports long-term function and resilience, you're in the right place.

Our Approach

The Skilled Hands Approach

Every session begins with assessment and intention.

Treatment is tailored to how your body moves, compensates, and responds — not a one-size-fits-all routine.

This is massage therapy designed for people who want real change, not temporary relief.

Core principles:

  • Assessment-driven care
  • Precision over pressure
  • Release before stretch
  • Whole-body integration

What to Expect in a Session

Each session is guided by how your body presents that day.

Treatment begins with assessment and observation, and is tailored to how your body moves, compensates, and responds - rather than following a fixed routine.

Sessions may include:

  • Movement-based assessment and reassessment
  • Targeted manual therapy informed findings
  • Joint and soft tissue techniques to support function
  • Whole-body integration rather than isolated treatment areas

Communication is encouraged throughout the session. Pressure is always intentional, and treatment is adjusted based on how your body responds.

The focus is not only symptom relief, but improved movement quality and resilience over time.

Booking & Appointment Guidance

Choosing the Right Appointment

If this is your first visit, booking the correct session helps ensure there is adequate time for assessment and treatment.

New Clients are encouraged to book a longer session to allow for:

  • Initial assessment and clinical reasoning
  • Hands-on treatment informed by findings
  • Reassessment as your body responds

Returning clients my choose session length based on current needs, treatment goals, or maintenance care.

If you're unsure which option is most appropriate, booking a longer session allows flexibility without rushing the process.

Session Lengths

  • 60 minutes

Suitable for focused areas, follow-up care, or ongoing treatment plans.

  • 75-90 minutes

Recommended for first-time visits, complex presentations, or when multiple regions

                   require attention.

Treatment time is always used intentionally. Longer sessions allow for broader assessment and integration, not simply more pressure.

What to Know Before Booking

  • Treatment is individualized and may change based on assessment findings
  • Communication is encouraged throughout the session
  • Pressure and techniques are adjusted based on response
  • Reassessment may occur during or between sessions

If you have questions before booking, you are welcome to reach out for clarification.
